JUROR: PAM INGALLS

Pam Ingalls' body of work in fine art reveals excellence achieved through a lifetime of dedication and education. LAAG is honored to have her critical judgment applied to the artists' submissions in the 42nd Annual River Road Show.

BEGINNINGS. Nurtured in art from the cradle by her father (Richard Ingalls who began the Art Department at Gonzaga University in Spokane, WA), Pam Ingalls' early awareness of the art world led to a selective education and premiere training under the hands of America's most important artists.

EDUCATION. Before receiving her BA at Gonzaga, she attended Accademia Delle Belle Art in Florence, Italy. After her BA, she worked in New York with 20th century artist, Frederick Frank, author of The Zen of Seeing. She continued her studies with the abstract and figurative oil painter, Ron Lukas, recent director of DreamWorks Studio's 2007 animated film, Surf's Up. Her recent studies have been under Richard Schmid, one of America's greatest living representational artists, and Burt Silverman, one of America's most important realist artists in portraiture, who has also done commercial cover art for Time, The New Yorker magazines, and the classic rock album: Jethro Tull's Aqualung.

TODAY. Pam is a member of Oil Painters of America, The National Oil and Acrylic Painter's Society, American Artist Professional League, Knickerbocker Artists, and Women Painters of Washington. Pam Ingalls' professional accomplishments include more than 60 prizes in 125 international and national juried shows.

In 1999 she traveled to Belfast for an Artist in Residency hosted by British Airways, The British National Trust and Flax Trust International to paint daily life in Northern Ireland.

You are cordially invited to enter the 42nd Annual River Road Show. This is a national juried show sponsored by the Louisiana Art and Artists' Guild and exhibited in the Louisiana State Archives Gallery, 3851 Essen Lane, Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The competition is open to all United States artists over the age of 18.
