2012 Summer Art Show and Sale

  • Judged Art Show with Two Divisions: Professional, Adult
    • Open to artists of all skill levels
    • All media accepted
    • Original work appropriate for general public viewing
  • Judge: Sandra Keller

    Sandra has been a member of LAAG for several years and is an art instructor at both Baton Rouge Hobby Lobby locations. She teaches all mediums and presented an interesting 3D Workshop of Raised Swamp Scenes in Oil at the Iberville Chapter. Her oil portrait Wisdom won First Place in last year's Iberville Chapter Art Show.

  • Reception: Sunday, June 10, from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
  • Entry Fees:
    • LAAG Members: $6 per entry or 5 for $25
    • NonMembers: $8 per entry or 5 for $35
    • Make checks out to: LAAG Iberville Chapter
  • Cash Awards for each division:
    • 1st Place Prize - $100
    • 2nd Place Prize - $75
    • 3rd Place Prize - $50
    • Plus 3 Honorable Mention Ribbons

      • Any Sunday, from 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.

    Late pick-up must pay $10 per week storage fee.

2012 Art Show Guidelines

All artwork must be Original, of subjects for general public viewing (no Nudity or Violence)

Please clearly identify on back (left bottom corner) of your work; the Title, Medium, Frame Size, Price or not for sale, Your Name, Address, and Phone

Gallery Hanging Requirements:

  • Maximum Size, Frame included 48 x 48 inches
  • Canvas Only - Must be wrap around gallery type (no visible staples) with sides over 1inch thick and painted.
  • Wood Frames - Simple (not ornate) Maximum frame width 3 inches, Matted and Wired on Back( a screw eye placed 1/3 down from the top corners of the frame. Wire should be 2 inches from the top of frame when held at the center.
  • Metal Frames - Metal clips and wire, clips firmly seated (no slippage), at the required distance from top.
  • Protective Layer - may use glass or Plexiglass (if over 18x24 "), should be properly sized, fitted and firmly seated for its frame.
  • All work should be firmly fastened in the frame with sufficient backing and / or tacking to eliminate any looseness. Check frames, tighten screws, reinforce corners, etc. as needed. Clean/dust the frame and or glass before turn-in and No WET PAINT.

Please indicate on the bottom of the Registration Form, the name of who will drop off &/or pick-up your artwork. (If that's you, then write: SELF)

We reserve, the right to refuse any work not meeting these Art Show Hanging Requirements.

We will make every effort in displaying your work with greatest care, but we nor our co-sponsors are not responsible for any art work damages or not pick up from our art shows.

Iberville Chapter

Directions to Iberville Chapter:

Approximately 20 minutes West of the Mississippi Bridge. From Baton Rouge take I-10 West to Exit 139 (Grosse Tete, Rosedale, & Maringouin) Turn Right onto Sidney Rd, go 2 miles and Turn Left at first intersection (Railroad St./Rosedale Rd.), go straight through blinking light and continue 1 mile to railroad crossing, Turn Right at Depot Road (just before RR crossing), at the corner of Depot and Augusta the Iberville Chapter is the long white building, (an 1864 Train Depot) next to Depot Park.

Alternative Route:

Take I-10 West to Exit 153 (LA 1 North to Port Allen), go 2 miles and turn left onto Rosedale Rd. (large Welcome to Port Allen sign), continue 16 miles until railroad crossing, Turn Right at Depot Road (just before RR crossing), at the corner of Depot and Augusta the Iberville Chapter is the long white building, (an 1864 Train Depot) next to Depot Park.
